Enjoy a private lunch for two (2) with IRONMAN Hall of Fame Member, Julie Moss in San Diego, CA or Kailua-Kona, HI.

Julie Moss is an American triathlete and IRONMAN Hall of Famer, best known for her dramatic finish at the 1982 IRONMAN World Championship, where she collapsed near the line and crawled across to place second. The televised moment became one of the most famous in endurance sport.

Leading late in the marathon, her body gave out about fifteen feet from the finish. After a roughly 30-second crawl she reached the line and finished second. ABC's Wide World of Sports broadcast the moment worldwide, and host Jim McKay called it the most agonizing moment he had ever seen in sports.

The televised, underdog finish inspired a wave of new participants and helped push the sport into the mainstream. By 1985, global participation had risen 400 percent, and the IRONMAN World Championship had reached a global audience.
